Who are you?
I am Barbara Giunta, a 27-year-old woman from Italy.

How would you describe yourself?
I am very active, organized and open-minded.

What do you do at European Energy? 
I am an Electrical Engineer, and my job consists of designing the medium voltage and high voltage systems for our large-scale solar parks, collaborating with the contractors who are installing them and making sure that the quality of the work is as expected.

How do you try to be a creative enabler of the green transition?
I am daily trying to find the best technical solutions to make our solar parks work at their highest potential and solve problems as soon as possible. Even for a technical position like electrical engineer, being creative is key.

What is the best things about working at European Energy? 
I love the atmosphere in the office, it is so international and diverse that everyone feels comfortable. It is also great that we are working for a “good purpose”, the green transition, which motivates me every day to go to work.

Why is it important for you that European Energy is a driving force in the green transition?
It is important because now is the moment to act to try and limit climate change. Working for this is extremely satisfying and rewarding. The challenge is huge and can seem overwhelming, but every contribution is important and European Energy is definitely playing an important role.

What are the best things about your colleagues?
I feel that there is a unique level of collaboration and help among colleagues. It is fun to be at the office and I feel close also to colleagues from other departments, thanks to the open attitude and good mood we experience everyday.

The most important values for me are “inclusion” and “ambition”. It is fundamental that our company is inclusive, making everyone feel welcome and listened to regardless of age, sex, nationality, sexual orientation, among others; inclusion is key to succeed in business and to attract the best talents. Ambition is evident everyday and is what is making us grow with such a high pace and towards very exciting projects.

What has been your best experience so far at European Energy?
The most exciting moment is the day a solar park is connected to the grid, and I can see green power being produced.

What do you like to do outside work?
I love doing sports: I play football and do bouldering. In my spare time, I like reading books, watching movies and spending time with my friends.
