European Energy enters Mexico

After having developed projects in Brazil the past two years, the European Energy Group has decided to expand its activities to another Latin American country – Mexico.

Together with a local partner, European Energy intends to develop 1 GW wind and solar power in Mexico the coming years of which 200 MW currently have building permits.

CEO Knud Erik Andersen says: “Mexico is a growing economy and the need for energy is rapidly increasing. As an experienced renewable energy developer, we perceive this as an opportunity to offer a competitive and green alternative to the Mexican energy market.”

European Energy has together with a partner an option to acquire 50% of the Mexican company in which the investment has been made. The Mexican company currently has 20 employees.
