European Energy wins 82 MW at auction in Brazil with Nordic Power Partners

Dec 21, 2017

Nordic Power Partners has further increased its footprint on the Brazilian energy market with a PPA (power purchase agreement) for 82 MW of wind capacity. The PPA was awarded under a recent auction. The 82 MW adds to the 180 MW of capacity that Nordic Power Partners has previously won in auctions in Brazil.

The CEO of European Energy Knud Erik Andersen says: “We are very satisfied to win this competitive auction in Brazil which was made possible by combining European Energy’s experience in developing, financing and building renewable energy and IFU’s experience in investing in emerging markets.

At the moment, Nordic Power Partners is constructing a 90 MW solar plant in Brazil and Nordic Power Partners has additionally 210 MW of capacity that is ready-to-build but do not yet have PPAs in its Brazilian portfolio.

Nordic Power Partners is a collaboration between European Energy and the Danish Climate Investment Fund which is managed by the Investment Fund for Developing Countries (IFU).
