European Energy has divested over 100MW of renewable energy projects in December

Dec 22, 2023

In the last month of 2023, European Energy successfully divested more than 100MW of renewable energy projects in Germany and the United Kingdom.

In December 2023, European Energy divested three renewable energy projects in Europe, including the Bubney Solar Farm in the United Kingdom and the Bloosballich Wind Park in Germany. With the addition of a third wind project in Germany, European Energy divested more than 100MW of renewable energy projects in December.

– Our divestment efforts in December demonstrate a strong and growing market interest in the renewable energy projects we offer. The increasing interest in renewable energy projects is further strengthened by the market belief that the central bank rate hiking cycle has come to an end, says Jens-Peter Zink, Deputy CEO of European Energy.

European Energy has developed and constructed Bubney Solar Farm, located in Shropshire, West Midlands, United Kingdom. The solar farm has a capacity of 40.4MW.  Construction started in September 2022, and the farm was connected to the grid in August 2023. It was fully divested to the Independent Power Producer, the Elm Trading Group.

The Bloosballich Wind Park located in the federal state Saxony Anhalt, Germany, has a capacity of 12.6MW. It consists of three wind turbines, each with a capacity of 4.2MW, manufactured by Enercon. The turbines were commissioned in November of this year. The wind park has been fully divested to a German family office.

– This year, European Energy has achieved solid results in project development, power production, and project divestments. We have gained momentum throughout the year, and the full-year financial results are expected to be in line with guidance, says Jens-Peter Zink.

2023 has been a year where European Energy has divested projects with a capacity of more than 1.1 GW. The projects divested in 2023 span the USA (346MW), the United Kingdom (107.4MW), Italy (237.4MW), Denmark (356MW), and Germany (75.6MW).
