European Energy expands Swedish office

Oct 09, 2024

European Energy continues its expansion in the Swedish market with a new office.

Copenhagen, Denmark, 9 October, 2024 – A new office was opened by European Energy in the Swedish town of Växjö. The new office marks that European Energy’s Swedish activities has greatly expanded and that there is a need for much more specialized competencies locally.

Around 40 visitors from the Swedish Parliament, municipalities, partners, landowners and the energy industry attended the office opening and went on a study trip to the first hybrid park in Sweden, Skåramåla, developed and constructed by European Energy.

The wind farm has already been completed and the solar farm is now being built. The first solar panels have been installed and the park is expected to be fully finalized before the end of the year. When completed, the hybrid park will provide green power equivalent to the electricity of more than 25,000 households each year.

“Over the past year, we have expanded our workforce in Sweden and are now 15 people with skills covering solar, wind and Power-to-X. The hybrid park in Skåramåla is a good example of how we are a very influential, thought-leading player and see Sweden as one of our core markets,” says Jens-Peter Zink, deputy CEO of European Energy, who attended the office opening.

European Energy has been established in Sweden since 2008 and has a strong local presence. The team consists of expertise in various technologies. This allows European Energy to find the right solution for each project. Hybrid parks, solar parks in woodland and new knowledge in Agri-PV, i.e. combining energy production with agriculture, are just a few examples of how the company drive development forward.  “We currently have a pipeline of around 30 projects with 4 GW and an increasingly strong position in the Swedish market. One of our strengths is that we invest in projects that can be realized and have the competence internally to take the process from land agreements to finished park,” says Peter Braun, Country Manager Sweden at European Energy.
