The State of Oklahoma and European Energy have signed an agreement to collaboratively develop renewable energy in the state.
Copenhagen, Denmark, 5th of December – European Energy has signed an agreement with the US state of Oklahoma to co-develop a wide range of renewable energy solutions. This partnership encompasses solar, wind, battery storage, and Power-to-X technologies.
The State of Oklahoma has an ambitious plan to support the development and investment in these energy solutions as outlined in its 2021 energy plan.
“This historic partnership marks a significant step forward for Oklahoma. By leveraging our business-friendly environment and ‘more of everything’ energy approach with European Energy’s cutting-edge technology, we are building toward a more reliable and affordable energy grid. This is an investment in our future that will create jobs and drive economic growth. Our aim is to ensure that Oklahoma remains at the forefront of energy innovation for generations to come,” said Governor Kevin Stitt.
European Energy has been active in the US since 2021 and has a development pipeline of over four GW of projects in the whole country.
“Our strategy focuses on renewable energy in Oklahoma, including PV, wind, battery storage, and Power-to-X technologies such as green hydrogen, methanol, and e-SAF. By 2027, we aim to achieve 1 GW of capacity in the state while supporting its economic and energy goals,” says Lorena Ciciriello, Chief Executive Officer of EE North America.
The Danish Foreign Ministry has supported European Energy in forging this agreement with the State of Oklahoma.
“The tie between Denmark and Oklahoma has further strengthened with our collaboration on renewable energy. Combining Denmark’s expertise and Oklahoma’s potential, this partnership will foster sustainable growth, innovation, and economic development. I’m particularly excited about European Energy’s work in Oklahoma, leveraging their experience from the world’s largest e-methanol project in Kassø, Denmark,” says Ambassador Jesper Møller Sørensen of Denmark in the USA.
