European Energy to deliver renewable energy for Apple in Australia

Nov 06, 2025

Renewable electricity from European Energy’s Lancaster solar project will support Apple’s clean energy commitments in Australia.

  • European Energy has signed a power purchase agreement with Apple in Australia.
  • Electricity will be supplied from the 108 MW(dc) Lancaster solar park in Victoria, which is under construction and expected online next year.
  • Australia is a priority market for European Energy, with a growing pipeline of solar, wind and battery storage projects.
  • European Energy continues to expand its presence in Australia, working with local communities and partners.

Copenhagen, Denmark, 6th of November 2026, European Energy has entered into a power purchase agreement with Apple in Australia. Under the agreement, the Lancaster solar park in Victoria will supply Apple with renewable electricity over the coming years. The 108 MW(dc) facility is currently under construction and is expected to begin delivering electricity to the grid next year.

“This project reflects the pace at which renewable energy development is moving in Australia,” said Catriona McLeod, Country Manager for Australia.

“There is strong demand for clean energy, and partnerships like this help bring new capacity online. The focus is on projects that integrate effectively with the Australian energy system and provide long-term value for the regions where they are located.”

Australia remains a priority market for European Energy. The ambition to accelerate renewable deployment, combined with favourable project conditions in several states, provides a strong foundation for continued utility-scale solar and storage development.

Alongside the Lancaster project, European Energy is advancing a broader pipeline of wind, solar and storage projects across the country. These projects are intended to support grid stability, increase the share of renewable electricity, and align with both federal and state energy and climate targets.

Long-term agreements with large energy users continue to play an important role in driving new clean energy investment. Apple plans to bring more than one million megawatt-hours of new renewable electricity online each year in Australia before 2030. The Lancaster project forms part of this effort and will contribute new capacity to the National Electricity Market.

“Long-term agreements with major energy consumers play a constructive role in enabling renewable energy projects,” said Jens Peter Zink, Executive Vice President.

“When companies make commitments of this nature, it supports investment decisions and brings new generation capacity forward. These partnerships connect demand with new clean supply and help advance the wider energy transition.”

European Energy continues to grow its presence in Australia, supported by an expanding team and close collaboration with local communities, suppliers and stakeholders. The company remains focused on delivering renewable energy and storage projects that support national and regional energy strategies and the decarbonisation of the electricity system.
